Baobab Oakland endeavors to become a go-to Oakland (Huichuin) destination for eclectic and inspiring live music, premier DJs, good food and good vibes in the Bay Area on Fridays and Saturdays.
Oakland (Huichuin), CA - Baobab Oakland is cordially inviting the community to join us on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30pm - 9:45pm for elective live music sessions. These special musical performances are free to our patrons, family friendly, and will feature the eclectic musical landscape of the Bay Area and beyond.
For the last 20 years, the Bissap Baobab Village of restaurants has been more than a destination for delicious African food, exciting worldly night club experiences, and good vibes; it is a thriving community center and Bay Area cultural institution. This year on Fridays and Saturdays, starting June 28, 2019, Baobab Oakland will be featuring live music duos and trio in the styles of world music, soul, funk, hip-hop, and fusions. We invite our beloved community to join us energize the space from 7:30pm - 9:45pm for weekly live music sessions inspired by the eclectic musical landscape of the Bay Area and beyond. These special live musical performances are free to our wonderful patrons.
Baobab Oakland will also be serving delicious Senegalese dishes, delicious fresh juices, delightful cocktails, so come hungry!
THE GFC (Soulful Melodies w/ a Hard-Hitting Poetic Edge)
This week, Baobab Oakland will be featuring The GFC (Golden Fortune Cookie) on Friday, July 12, 2019. The GFC is a music collective from the Bay Area founded by Performer/Producer, Jeff Turner with Saxophonist Kenny B. and Super Poet, McTate Stroman II. With a dynamic blend of soulful melodies, infectious rhythms, a hard poetic edge and a message of prosperity and strength to walk your divine path, the GFC has come to lift the spirits.
MELISSA CRUZ FLAMENCO (Filipina Flamenco Artist)
On Saturday, July 13, 2019, Baobab Oakland will be featuring Melissa Cruz Flamenco. Melissa Cruz, Flamenco Filipina artist, presents Roots Flamenco from Oakland, showcasing Spanish Andalucia’s diverse cultural influences from the Iberian Kalé, North Africa, India and the Americas.
