During this New Year’s Eve at Bissap, we will celebrate refugee persons with the biggest heart of the Baobab- those who have had to flee their homes in the less fortunate parts of Africa and elsewhere due to war and fear, and are trying to start a new home here in the US. For our special events in Senegal we celebrate with the ethnic wolof traditional dance Sabar. The Sabar dance is celebrated at events such as “Ngente” (baptism) or “Tak” (weddings). You know how much we love to celebrate in Africa, so be ready to feel the spirit of the Baobab and meet and share with one another.

We will also have some more West African floor show surprises. Exceptionally, we will have a buffet this year with free champagne for everyone. The whole team of the Baobab will celebrate life and joy till 5am (check our after party near by the restaurant)

Part of the evening's proceeds will go to International Rescue Committee. That focus on helping refugee families in need. We expect all of you to come and celebrate with us the event of a New Year that we wish full of joy and achievements for us all.

Come join us at 10:00pm at Little Baobab for Melissa's birthday soccer fundraiser. We are raising funds for the start of a new self-movitating, non-profit soccer program for school-and teen-age girls in our Mission district.

Friday, January 19, 2007 Come for another Katrina Fund Support next month at the Little Baobab. We will have another celebration to raise awarness of what is currently happening for the hurricane relief and evacuees.
