Come see our best local Samba dancers compete to win the opportunity of parading as a Musa with Alex Coutinho's Poderosas do Samba school in Rio de Janeiro Carnaval 2025.

Contest takes place at Bissap Baobab on the 1st night of the San Francisco Carnaval 2024.

Want to be a contestant? The competition fee is $100 and you can find information and register Here. If you win Alex will personally coordinate your position as a Musa (does not include costume fee or plane ticket).

Who is Alex? Director of the Passista section of Rio Samba School Paraíso do Tuiuti. Teacher and leader within the Samba community in Rio de Janeiro Brazil and now travels all over the world performing and giving workshops Samba enthusiast.
